Why do sales leaders pass to marketing?
Recently with the rise of the term demand generation, I am seeing more sales leaders unsatisfied with their position in the company. The current problems are payment-based commission, dependence on the quality of leads, and no strategic influence on the Go To Market Plan.
As a result, a new position, which is a cross-department between Marketing and Sales, is sometimes part of the Revenue Team.
And is a position that will perfectly fit a sales leader who wants to become more strategic in their work.
In many organizations, someone from the product team usually becomes the go-to-market strategist, and I am more prone to give this function to someone closer to the customers.
