Why business leaders don't want to spend on "branding" ?
While working with many leaders, especially from Central and Eastern Europe I can see a clear pattern: Branding exercises such as participating in podcasts, writing articles or Linkedin posts, meeting potential influential people are strongly neglected.
In front of everything you have a clear logic - his majesty Return on Investment is KING and FINANCE🤑 is the queen.
And branding is not something that will have an ROI short term.
Quite understandable, no?
But then when the same leaders, years later start talking about capitalization, potential exit, or how much their brand is worth, they start to blame the marketer or the sales guy for lack of branding.
What they don't understand is this 📖
Branding comes from the founder, he/she needs to have the desire to indoctrinate the public with company values, market vision, and evangelism through connections.
Without such desire - LinkedIn posts will stay LinkedIn posts because those alone
won't create your company's branding.
For branding, you need a voice.... not a shadow
Get out there and start talking to people! Influence! Do things that don’t scale!
