Operations. I get it. It's not the most glamorous part of running a business. But it's essential and often overlooked 👀 .
In a recent discussion with a potential client, they raised this issue which made me think that two things are missing:
1️⃣ One of them is that the offer is high-level, and a roadmap needs to be included.
2️⃣ Second is that there are not enough hands for all the beautiful ideas, meaning there is a lack of execution.
With the significant layoffs in tech, it's understandable, but overall, SMBs lack hands to get things done.
My solution to the first problem was creating a roadmap. Since many customers have told me that it is my tactical advantage, I make them.
➡ How?
It can go as simple as an excel file divided into parts representing the different stages of the company transformation; this is how you show clients that you have 🏹 a strategy and 👓 a vision .
Second. Being a member of full-funnel for a long time, I gladly applaud the idea of playbooks. First, I hire more freelancers than usual for niche work, and I use Upwork sparingly 🤝 . People on Upwork tend to be more businessmen than makers, and in a business, I work with, you need makers. Those are rare finds.
Since I am not a genius, I usually work with people I recommend, and recently I started delegating more. It's after I read the book "Who not How". ⌛ Time is precious, and your Whos will make your company.
