How to help your company expand? Learn a new language!
Last year with Ruslan Shastun, Artem Brytchenko, and ISAIAS BENJAMIN CUELLO we did a roadshow for a month, visiting potential clients in LATAM.
Beautiful countries and great people, some specific markets.
Any insights?
LATAM is not developing as fast as Asia is, therefore they have less technology.
Mexicans like Thursdays :) We had to do 6 meetings on a Thursday because everyone chose that day for a meeting.
The power of personal affection and presence is ever important.
Once, we had settled in a certain country, and got a few good leads, we immediately hired a sales rep there.
What next?
To teach the market about your solution, we need to educate.
That’s why my goal this year is to get to a conversational Spanish level so I can lead and preach on those webinars we will do for LATAM.
Each market is different, time to treat it as such, not everyone has the same buyer mentality as in the Western world.
Best thing you can do as an entrepreneur?
Going into a big new market, try to learn their language, people will appreciate that plus learning languages is a hell of a fun hobby.
P.S.
I was never this embarrassed like an exhibition we participated in, although it was in Mexico, people spoke little to no English.
It was the first time when I could not help our sales dep in bringing people to the booth, I understood them halfway even though I thought I knew some Spanish.
