Here are 8 lessons I've learned as an entrepreneur (the hard way ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ)
๐ค Having a close group of entrepreneur friends to share success and failure with is crucial. Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey and having people who understand what you're going through can make a big difference.
๐ข Establishing clear communication is a must when trying to get your vision across to both your employees and customers. This can be achieved through graphs, case studies, video meetings, and roadmaps.
๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ Finding a way to relieve stress by understanding your stress patterns and replacing them with productive new habits is essential to staying productive and healthy.
๐ Finding an employee mix that works for you is key. I mostly work with freelancers and internal staff. Freelancers are more ambitious, and internal staff is more consistent. Having a mixture of both in your business is what I find the most effective.
๐ธ Value your work. Charging per project rather than per hour for me is more effective. This allows me to consider the value-added I give to a project outside of working hours. This includes time, research, and additional fieldwork.
๐ฏ Outbound marketing and sales tactics are crucial, even if you're a freelancer. Inbound marketing is not always consistent, so you need to be proactive in generating leads and sales to stabilize your business and ensure growth.
๐ Constantly adapting your strategies and not focusing only on one stage of marketing, even if it's temporarily successful, is important to maintain a long-term growth mentality.
๐จ๐ฝโ๐ผ Presentation is everything. When other businesses choose to work with you, their decision is not always based solely on your work. They also look at your personality, your copy, your online presence, and how you present yourself and your business.
