Fellow content marketers, are you tired of wasting time with hiring writers📒?
Here’s a quick tip on how to find them:
After spending way too much time growing publications there in the early days, my first place to look is Medium.
How?
1. Head to medium
2. Use the Search function (top right) to search for your niche, then click "Publications"
Example: "mental health": https://lnkd.in/eS2Zafx
3. Open a few Publications in new tabs, then append "/about" to the address bar (or click the About [Publication Name] in the footer).
4. Scroll past the description and editors and you should see dozens or hundreds of contributing writers in your niche. Not all will be a good fit so you have to scan over their profile to see if they're worth reaching out to.
5. Make a shortlist of writers who (a) seem like they'd be a good fit for you, (b) would be happy to work on your project + at your rate.
6. Reach out to them on Twitter w/ a DM/Tweet asking if they do paid writing work or find their email (you can use hunter.io) and ask there. Tell them about the project and pay quickly - don't waste their time.
