Ever noticed how marketing and communication shift depending on where you are?
One size doesn’t fit all, which makes it exciting. Some people like gold, other people like slim fit.
Together with Platforce and a few other countries, we have done a ton of roadshows, which btw, (open your note takers) will be a very good tactic, considering AI.
Let’s talk about some differences I’ve seen across continents:
🇺🇸 United States:
It’s all about ROI. Price? Not a dealbreaker if you can show the value clearly. Here, your messaging needs to focus on what your product does and the results it delivers. Make it about impact, capabilities, and measurable outcomes.
🌎 Latin America:
Price matters less than you might think (if you are friends)—but budgets can still be tight. People here are willing to pay if the value feels undeniable. Lead with function and reliability. Get your pricing on the table early and show why your product is worth it. Then bribe them with immense care and friendliness. If the numbers will match, u will get the deal.
🇪🇺 Europe:
In Northern Europe, it’s about precision and trust. They want quality and are willing to invest in it, but they don’t appreciate fluff.
Southern Europe? Relationships matter more. Be personable, approachable, and willing to have a conversation before diving into the numbers. Have some wine with them! Maybe a tapas? Or go have a casual Gyros before returning to the office.
🌏 Southeast Asia:
It’s all about respect and relationships. Direct branding isn’t as common here—personal branding is still growing.
Focus on building connections, being patient, and showing humility. Not much place for ego, the company interest are above everything else.
Soft, respectful messaging wins over the flashy “me-first” approach you might use in the US.
At the end of the day, successful marketing and sales communication comes down to this: listen, adapt, and respect the culture. It’s not just about selling—it’s about connecting.
I’d love to hear your stories!
