Closing more in pharma 🤝💰
Here is your 101 guide on leveraging your connections, making new friends, and closing some deals if your market is conservative 😉
👀Take a look at your old friends: There's a goldmine in the friendships your people have with potential buyers.
🗣️ Word of Mouth: Ask for a recommendation. One thing leads to another, and before you know it, you may be shaking hands on a deal.
🤝 Shared Tales: Cook up a story, but don't do it solo. Get those would-be buyers in on it. Like when I started a rough and raw podcast ( follow Platforce and our podcast "Sales and Pharma Tech Podcast"), talking to big marketing hotshots. The recent guy we interviewed Adam Rosenberg, it was a goldmine. Found a mutual friend, got a nod, and BAM! We're talking business. Because hell, nobody trusts a sales pitch, but everybody loves a good chat.
🍻 Bar Talk: People trust a drunk more than any salesman. Set up a local watering hole gathering, a fancy lunch, a roadshow, a stakeholder dinner, hell, even a picnic, if that's your thing. Get these buyers talking to each other.
⚽️ Sidekicks: Get in with the crowd they admire. Know a local legend in their industry? Team up. Hold an event, have them talk, and invite them to your podcast. Write a blog article about them or an autobiography. I am no Walter Isacsoon, but everyone wants their 5 minutes of fame.
Mix, mingle, and make that sale.
🫂 Old School Friends: Reminds me of this guy who worked in pharma, an old-school trade. Knew him for a million years. No online footprint worth a damn. He found himself a big industry group, partnered up, and did some research. Next thing, he's making headway with the big fish. Because sometimes, you gotta go back to basics. In fact, in #pharma, you always need to go back to basics. It's how the industry works.
In a world of noise and screens, sometimes the best approach is the human touch. Pour a drink, roll up your sleeves, and get to it.
As one of my friends in sales says, if you are in sales, you gotta have a strong stomach. A lot of drinking is to be made. Hahahahaha 🍻🍻🍻🍻
