Can you bill your shower time? I think of #client work when I shower :)
I hope this is familiar to you as well.
You work as a #consultant or an agency, and you think a lot of your clients, even when you shower (in my case) or walk your dog or do laundry.
It is hard to disconnect and think of #business, yet I don't get paid for it.
Sometimes I am yelled at when people ask me what I am thinking. Meanwhile, I am daydreaming of an #ABM #campaign done right.
More interesting is that most clients ask you to bill only the hours worked directly on their projects.
And you ask yourself, can I bill that "shower" time? Why are clients considering only the "active" time as "work time"? After all, I came up with the #solution when I was not working on their #project.
But Can I bill that time?
Hmmm, food for thought.
Sounds fair that I want to bill that because my shower time helped me figure out a new solution that brought an increase in #revenue of 2%, which is worth XXXX dollars/euro.
I am looking for ways to bill that "thinking time."
I was thinking of creating a special #strategy rate, a fixed amount counting this kind of "non-billable work."
Maybe there are other ways? What do you do?
