Are you looking for your next read? 👀📚
Here are my recommendations 👇🏽
🧠 The influential mind by Tali Sharot - I recently finished this book on my 16-hour flight, giving me a fresh take on the power of influence.
👉🏽The Takeaway: Instead of using persuasion to oppose a view, you must give out your control. Seek a mutual ground and use this to emphasize it towards your perspective.
💎 Summary of Principles by Ray Dalio - A friend introduced me to this book, which couldn't have come at a better time.
👉🏽The Takeaway: The power of "reality gems," something that, once learned, can not be forgotten- like riding a bike. We use this gem when we face a problem we have dealt with before- It's our solution guide. These gems are hard lessons that require us to be objective and not focus on how we want things to be but how they really are.
🌊 Blue Ocean Strategy by Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne - A book on how to beat the competition by not trying to beat the competition.
👉🏽The Takeaway: This book presents two scenarios a "red" ocean filled with predators, aka competitors, and a "blue " ocean empty of them. In this scenario, you have two options: 1. You can swim away to find a bluer ocean, or 2. Stay in the red ocean, but create your own unique offering.
🎯 Influence by Robert Cialdini- It is a very well-researched psychology book with detailed business case studies.
👉🏽The Takeaway: Reciprocation, Commitment and Consistency, Social Proof, Liking, Authority, and Scarcity are the key biases affecting our decisions. This book guides how to avoid and be aware of these psychological traps through real-life examples.
If you have any book you think I should read on my next flight, leave it in the comments 👀
