An interesting strategy for b2b sellers is "unselling your product". You see, I am pretty much into consultative sales, and best what you can for your customers is actually:
- Explain the situation in the market
- Explain what competitors you have and talk about their benefits but also drawbacks
- Explain how and why are you better, sell them the "vision"
- Unsell the product a bit
Why do you need to unsell?
If you don't hit the friction early on, the friction will hit you and it can happen very late when you are 6 months into the deal and you still cannot figure out why you cannot sell that "thing" to the enterprise.
Unselling your product is going to help you understand what is actually that exciting in your product and if your pitch or messaging is any good.
