💸 Choosing the correct pricing strategies is the make or break of any business.
💰 It's not just a matter of setting a price. It's about understanding the added value you bring to the table to monetize your product at its best.
👨🏽💼 I once worked with a property tech company, where I experienced firsthand the importance of finding the right price structure for your product.
🤷🏽♂️ Initially, we built a seat-based pricing model, but it soon became clear that some users were in need of high onboarding and support time, which made our pricing structure unsustainable. In order to not overload the support team, we had to evolve our strategy.
🎯 We decided to shift our focus to a value-based pricing model, considering the features our customers would use and how frequently they would use them. This allowed us to cater to all the diverse customer needs, as well as redefine our targeting strategy and ultimately grow the company and its features.
🪐 This shift opened doors to larger opportunities, allowing us to provide a service fee that resonated with our customers' usage patterns. We began to see the real value in not just selling a product but selling a tailor experience.
👀 Looking back, I see that changing pricing was pivotal in the company's journey. And I learned an invaluable lesson: Pricing is about delivering tailored value based on customer needs.
